Nursing School Admissions and Entrance Exams:

Admission to nursing school is highly competitive.  Entrance exam scores can determine whether you will be admitted and your placements.

Entrance exam scores are used to ascertain your readiness to succeed in nursing. Show them you’re ready! The nursing entrance exams described in the table below are the nursing school equivalents of the ACT or SAT tests used for college admission.

Each nursing school may select entrance exams and passing scores that align with their program objectives.

Please carefully check the admissions requirements for your schools of interest and allow ample time to prepare.  TEAS recommends, for example, at least 6 weeks of preparation, as well as striving to earn your highest score rather than just prepping to pass.

My Tutoring

I work one-on-one with you to help you learn and excel. I continually monitor what you know, have not yet learned, and what you need to learn next to advance academically. I repair misunderstandings or weaknesses in prior knowledge that could hinder your learning and performance on your entrance exams.

Through my nurturing tutoring I build your knowledge, confidence, understanding, reasoning, and problem solving skills so you can achieve your career aspirations.

I continuously adjust my tutoring to your needs. I use teaching methods such as inquiry, targeted instruction, demonstrations, guided practice, and routine checks for understanding.

“One-on-one tutoring is… the single most powerful strategy for responding to learning needs.”*

Designing Tutoring for You!

It is helpful for me to learn about you by:

– Discussing your learning preferences and objectives
– Examining graded worksheets or tests
– If feasible, working with you on a couple of problems
– I can talk with a teacher if you believe that would be helpful

We can discuss observations, recommendations, objectives, communications preferences, etc. to develop an initial tutoring strategy.

There is no cost until tutoring begins. If you are not satisfied after the first tutoring session, I will provide a full refund.
